Stand
Up For America's Hawaii Christmas Lights Dislplay
December, 2002
The
City and County of Honolulu each year allows 6 Christmas Displays
on the Civic Center Grounds for non profit organizations in connection
with their Honolulu City Lights program.
Honolulu City Lights is an annual event where the City buildings
and grounds are festively decorated and lit up with thousands of
Christmas lights. There is a parade to kick off the event in Downtown
Honolulu.
The United States map was approx. 8 feet tall with the phrase "One
Nation Under God" placed on top of it. SUFA wanted to include
the picture of Jesus and the Happy Birthday Lord Jesus message as
a reminder of what the Christmas season is really all about.
SUFA
founder and president Mike Gabbard received many compliments on
the display by tourists, passersby and groups of school children
who took field trips to see the Christmas displays. The displays
were on display for about a month.
