SUFA's
Honolulu City Lights Christmas display was once again a favorite
with both Hawaii residents and mainland visitors alike.
SUFA
founder and president Mike Gabbard received many compliments on
the SUFA display that was on display for a month.
Hi
Mike,
My
wife and I (from Perrysburg, Ohio) are here visiting our son (career
Marine) and wife (an RN) and were so very happy to see your display
in Honolulu City Center tonight. In a day when it seems as thought
it is popular to secularize America, our collective hats are off
to you for this wonderful statement on the underlying values upon
which this great nation was founded. God Bless you and your family
and God Bless America.
Thanks
Again,
Stan and Davidia Seevers
The
City and County of Honolulu each year allows 5 Christmas Displays
on the Civic Center Grounds for non profit organizations in connection
with their Honolulu City Lights program.
Honolulu
City Lights is an annual event where the City buildings and grounds
are festively decorated and lit up with thousands of Christmas lights.
There is a parade to kick off the event in Downtown Honolulu.
The
United States map was approx. 8 feet tall with the phrase "One
Nation Under God" placed on top of it. SUFA included a picture
of Jesus surrounded by children and a “Happy Birthday Lord
Jesus” message as a reminder of what the Christmas season
is really all about.
